A 200 x 50mm CCA treated pine sleeper cut to 2.4m. This is the size most low retaining walls, raised garden beds and terraced steps get built from, and at 2.4m it is still light enough to carry and set without gear.

Treated pine gives you the honest version of a timber wall. It is quicker to cut, drill and fix than concrete, far cheaper to get into a tight backyard, and the treatment is what keeps rot and termites out of the sections sitting against soil.

Sizing Sold individually. Stack five sleepers for a 1m high wall. Anything above 1m should be checked by an engineer before you build it.
