Treated pine garden edge at 100 x 25mm and 4.8m long. Thin enough to follow a gentle curve, long enough to run a straight bed without a join every couple of metres.

This is the cheap fix for the job that keeps coming back. Without an edge, mulch creeps into the lawn, the mower throws it around, and the bed loses its shape by the second season. A pegged timber edge holds the line and takes about an afternoon to put in.
