A curved claw pulls nails on an arc, so the timber comes up clean instead of crushed.

The curve is doing the work. It rolls the nail out along its own arc and spreads the load across the head of the hammer rather than digging a single point into the board, so you are not leaving a crescent dent every time you pull a bent one. On anything that is staying visible, that is the difference between a pull and a repair.

The OX fibreglass handle takes the shock out of the hit, so a full day of nailing is not a full day of vibration through your elbow. The head is hardened and tempered, the balance is set so the weight is out at the face where you want it, and the grip is non slip for wet hands.
