A blunt blade is the reason knives slip, and the reason people push harder than they should. Each of these carries 8 precision ground snap-off segments, so a fresh edge is a second's work rather than a trip back to the ute, and you stop nursing a dull blade through the cut.

The steel is hardened and tempered SK5 with a blackened finish, chosen because it resists bending and chipping rather than just holding an edge. On 18mm snap-off blades the failure mode is the blade flexing and breaking off mid cut, which is the dangerous one. They fit all OX 18mm snap-off knives and most standard 18mm knives, and come in a safety dispenser so the loose blades stay contained.
