A 57mm bolster with a top guard, so the hammer hits the guard and not your hand.

The guard is the feature that keeps fingers. A bolster is a tool you hold and hit, over and over, usually one handed and often at an awkward angle, and the top guard on this one takes the glancing blow that would otherwise land across your knuckles.

At 57mm the blade is a narrow bolster, which gives you a controlled cut into chases and brickwork rather than the wide split you get off a full width bolster. It is drop forged steel through the body, so the head takes repeated hammering without mushrooming out straight away, and the rubber hand grip cuts the shock coming back up.
