OX Professional Timber Float

A hardwood float that opens the surface instead of sealing it.

Timber is still the right float for an early pass on concrete. It drags on the surface and opens the paste up, bringing enough cream to the top to work with, where a steel float closes it off too soon and traps bleed water underneath. Get this wrong and you get a surface that dusts or delaminates later.

The body is high quality hardwood and the handle is an OXGRIP HIGH LIFT, which lifts your knuckles clear of the wet slab so you are not dragging your hand through the finish. It is assembled with specialised wood screws that stop the handle backing out of the float, which is the usual way a timber float dies.
