Each end of the spoon is a different size. That means one tool covers the standard joint on the job and the odd one out, and you are not walking back to the ute because the wall you are on runs a different bed than the one you finished yesterday.

It is made from a single piece of carbon spring steel, so there is no joint to loosen and it springs back rather than taking a set when you lean into it. The polished finish is what gives you the actual result: a slick face that compresses the mortar and leaves a smooth, sealed joint instead of dragging the sand out of it.
