The 12mm turbo rim is the working part. The turbo profile clears spoil out of the cut faster than a plain rim, so the blade keeps cutting rather than glazing over and burning, and 12mm of segment means you are not buying another one next month. It runs cooler for the same reason, which is what actually kills diamond blades.

In use the rim goes semi transparent at speed, so you can see your cut line through it instead of guessing where the blade is. It also takes a lot of the vibration out compared to a conventional diamond blade, which matters when you are cutting freehand on a grinder. The reinforced dual centre flange keeps it running true on the arbor.
