A tiler's sponge that holds enough water to wash down a wall without ten trips to the bucket.

Absorption is the whole job. A sponge that gives up its water after two passes means you are back at the bucket constantly and your grout lines end up washed out in some spots and dry in others. This one is built to hold water, so you get a longer, more even wash off and a consistent grout line across the whole wall.

The open cell structure is the other half of it. Dirt and grout slurry release out of the sponge when you rinse rather than staying trapped in the face, so you are not dragging yesterday's grout back across clean tile. It also does a tidy job on general clean up around the house.
