Runs a clean external corner in one pass instead of feathering two faces together.

Setting an external corner freehand means working both sides and trying to hold the angle straight the whole way down. A corner trowel holds that angle for you, so the arris stays true and you are not going back over it afterwards with a straight edge.

The footprint is deliberately small, which is what lets you get into a corner beside a window reveal or a return without fouling on the wall next to it. High grade stainless steel blade so it does not stain the set, and a DURAGRIP handle for a better hold when you are working overhead.
