The bridge design in the shaft soaks up most of that before it reaches your hand.

At 450g it is on the lighter side, which sounds like less power but reads as more control and less fatigue across a long run of nails. The magnetic nail starter lets you set and drive a nail one handed when the other hand is holding the timber or the ladder, and the large striking face means fewer glancing blows and fewer bent nails.
