A magnified centre vial, so you can read it up close against a wall without squinting or guessing.

Accuracy is quoted at plus or minus 0.5mm per metre. On a 1200mm level that is well under a millimetre across the whole run, which is the difference between a tiled wall that reads flat and one where every bit of lippage shows up the moment the afternoon light hits it side on.

The body is structural aircraft alloy and the vials are shock proof Plexiglass. That matters more than it sounds: a level that has been dropped once and quietly knocked out of true is worse than having no level at all, because you will keep trusting it.
