Flexible stainless blade with an aluminium spine, so it bends where you want and nowhere else.

A taping knife has to do two contradictory things. The blade has to flex to feather a coat out flat, but the back of it has to stay dead straight or every pass leaves a ridge. The flexible stainless steel blade gives you the flex at the edge and the strong aluminium backing holds the line behind it.

Stainless matters on plaster because the blade lives wet. A carbon steel knife left with compound on it overnight comes back rusty and starts staining your finish coats. The tapered DURAGRIP handle is shaped so you can push with your palm rather than pinch with your fingers, which is the difference on a full day of taping.
