A 567g one piece steel hammer with the shock taken out of the handle.

There is no join in this hammer. Head, shaft and all is forged from one piece of high quality steel, so the head cannot fly off and the handle cannot snap at the eye, which is where every timber handled hammer eventually gives up.

The trade off with a one piece steel hammer is vibration, and that is what the OX GRIP handle deals with. It has shock reduction built in, so a long day of framing or stripping form does not leave your hand buzzing. The straight claw is for ripping and prying rather than pulling nails on a finish, and the 567g head is precision balanced so it swings true.
