The tip is SK5 steel, hardened for edge holding, so it stays sharp through framing and fixout instead of rolling over the first time it catches something hard. When it finally goes, you swap the tip and keep the handle you are used to.

Each tip is threaded and comes with its own replacement bolt. That matters because the thread is the part that normally fails on a replaceable tip system, and a new bolt every time means you are never chasing a stripped thread on site.
