The edges come pre worn, so it finishes clean on the first slab instead of after you have worn it in yourself.

A brand new finishing trowel with square edges drags lines and ripple marks through the surface until you have broken it in, which usually costs you a job or two of ordinary looking work. This one arrives with the edges already worn off, so the first pour you take it to comes up flat.

The blade is lightweight tempered stainless steel on a fully riveted aluminium shank, and the handle is set for balance across the blade. Over a long finishing session that balance is what decides whether your forearm is cooked by the time you get to the last bay. The OXGRIP handle takes care of the rest.
