The blades are alloy steel and rated to cut HRC50, so tie wire, chain and hardened bolt sit inside what the tool is actually built for rather than being the stretch that rolls the edge on a cheap pair.

The long drop forged handles are where the work gets easy. More handle is more leverage, so a cut you would be putting your whole body into on a short pair comes down to a two hand squeeze.
