A dry core bit that clears its own dust, so the core comes out instead of jamming in the barrel.

The slotted barrel is the part that earns its keep. Drilling brick and block dry packs the barrel with spoil, and once it packs you are pushing heat into the diamond instead of cutting with it. The slots let that dust escape and give you something to lever the drilled core out with, so you keep cutting and you are not stopping to clear the bit every hole.

The body is high grade steel and the segment is a high concentration self sharpening diamond, which means the edge keeps exposing fresh diamond as it wears rather than glazing over and skating on the face of the brick.
