How to Use It

• Planning: Determine the layout of your retaining wall, identifying where 90-degree corners are required.
• Foundation Preparation: Excavate a trench approximately 130mm deep and 350mm wide along the intended wall line. Fill with coarse sand or road base to create a 100mm thick leveling pad, ensuring it is compacted and level.
• First Course Installation: Place the Modernstone® Corner Block at the designated corner position on the leveling pad. Ensure it is level both side-to-side and front-to-back. Continue laying standard Modernstone® blocks from the corner block along the wall alignment.
• Subsequent Courses: After completing the first course, clean the top surface of any debris. Place the next course in a running bond pattern, ensuring each block is properly aligned and seated. Repeat this process until the desired wall height is achieved.
• Capping: Once the wall reaches the intended height, install Modernstone® cap blocks to provide a finished appearance and protect the wall from environmental elements.
