A hybrid yarn football surface with reduced infill, so there is less rubber splashing out of the surface and less heat coming off it.

LigaTurf HB250 combines fibrillated and monofilament sports yarn in the one surface. Fibrillated tape splits into a net that holds infill in place, monofilament stands up and takes the wear, and using both is how Polytan get durability without needing as much rubber in the system. They specify a reduced SBR infill content for exactly that reason, which cuts both splash and surface heat.

It installs as a complete system over a shock pad layer, which Polytan describe as critical for shock absorption and protecting players from serious injury. Built for soccer, AFL and rugby at community through to professional level.
