Why the name had to change
We get asked this most weeks. Truth is we did not want to change it. Rock Around the Block was a name everyone around here knew. But another company in Melbourne already owned the rights to it, so the choice was made for us. Rather than fight it, we took it as the line between the old chapter and the new one.
Nothing about where we are or who serves you moved. The yard is the same yard. The stacks are in the same bays. What changed is the sign and the people behind it.

Rockmate is owned by Diggermate, the excavator hire company that works across Australia and New Zealand. That matters for two reasons. The first is that we know what a job site needs and when it needs it, because hire is the same game: the gear has to be there on the day or the crew stands around. The second is that the yard now has the backing to fix the things the old chapter struggled with. Stock, service and a website that actually works.

What we are fixing
Three things, and you will see all of them if you come in or order online. The online store, so you can order a cube of soil or a pallet of sleepers at ten at night and have it on the truck in the morning. Service in the yard, so whether you want one bag of mulch or a whole load you get a straight answer and a hand loading. And the big one: we want to be the best landscape supplies yard going. That is a tall order, and it keeps us honest.
